Ericca C.
Veterinary Assistant
Hi, my name is Ericca Caloca, and I am a Veterinary Assistant at Neighborhood Vet Hospital of Oceanside. I am passionate about providing high-quality care and helping my patients feel comfortable and confident in their treatment.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, singing is my passion, so naturally I love karaoke! At home I have Michelada, my sweet, goofy three-legged chihuahua, and Opal, my shy girl kitty.
Favorite Part of My Job
What I enjoy most is learning how to become the best possible advocate for the animals who can't speak for themselves.
Why I Chose This Profession
I adore animals and hope to make a positive difference in their lives. Caring for them is incredibly rewarding, and I love being able to support both pets and the people who love them.
Education
I graduated from Agoura High School in Los Angeles County and studied performing arts at Santa Barbara City College. I was also certified in Small Animal CPR and Safety (2008–2010), and I plan to get re-certified.
Professional Background
I love working in general practice because you see such a variety of cases—from special situations to all the sweet puppies and kittens. It's a wonderful mixed bag.
Work History
I began my career in veterinary medicine at Agoura Animal Clinic as a receptionist and kennel attendant (2005–2006), followed by Los Feliz Small Animal Hospital in 2007. I then spent several years as a Client Service Specialist and Kennel Attendant at The Barkley Pet Hotel and Day Spa in Westlake Village, CA (2013–2017), before working as a Veterinary Assistant at Fire Mountain Veterinary Hospital in Oceanside from 2019 to 2026. I'm now very happy to be at Neighborhood Veterinary Hospitals of San Diego.
