Nicole S.
Receptionist and Veterinary Assistant
Hi, my name is Nicole Beatty-Spencer, and I work in Reception and as a Vet Assistant at Neighborhood Vet Hospital of Peñasquitos of Peñasquitos in Rancho Peñasquitos. I am passionate about providing high-quality care and helping pets and their owners feel comfortable and confident.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, I enjoy baking, reading, and thrifting. At home, I have quite the crew: Vinny, my old-man chihuahua; Frank and Bean, sibling cats (Frank is a troublemaker and Bean is a perfect princess); Chip, an orange cat who is scared of everything, even his own tail; and Honey Mustard, my sleepy bearded dragon.
Favorite Part of My Job
I love how unpredictable this work can be — an appointment can turn into a surgery so quickly, and no two days are ever the same.
Why I Chose This Profession
I have always loved learning about animals and how to care for them, and that lifelong passion led me into this field.
Education
I graduated from Grossmont College in 2016 with an Associate of Science in Baking and Pastry, and I completed my Vet Assistant certification in 2024.
Professional Background
I especially enjoy educating owners on preventative care for their pets.
Work History
Before entering veterinary medicine, I worked at theme parks and in childcare, including a role as a safari driver for Animal Kingdom. This is my first job in the field, which I began in 2023.
