Noelia A.
Veterinary Assistant
Hi, my name is Noelia Alcaraz, and I am a Veterinary Assistant at Neighborhood Vet Hospital of Peñasquitos. I am passionate about providing high-quality care and helping my patients feel comfortable and confident in their treatment.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, I enjoy cruising on my longboard, going to Disneyland, and reading romance novels. At home I have Ollie, a four-year-old Cocker Spaniel who has been with me since he was seven weeks old. He's a little spoiled and has plenty of attitude when people try to touch him, but he's the most loving dog and adores going to the park, the beach, and meeting new dogs.
Favorite Part of My Job
My favorite part of my job is that it doesn't feel like a job at all—it's almost like a hobby where I can let my stress levels come down.
Why I Chose This Profession
I've been around animals since I was a kid—my whole family is in this field, so it feels natural and like it runs in my blood.
Education
I graduated from the Health Occupation Center in 2023, completing a six-month Veterinary Assistant program. While in school in 2023, I also earned my Fear Free Veterinary Assistant certification, which helps me handle pets more carefully and safely for everyone involved.
Professional Background
My favorite thing about veterinary care is that there's always something new to learn and new techniques to improve our skills.
Work History
While finishing the VA program, I started my internship at Neighborhood Vet Hospital of Peñasquitos. I loved that everyone there treated each other like family and wanted to be part of it, so I was thrilled when the practice manager offered me a job after I finished school. I've been working there since 2024.
