Savannah E.
Receptionist
Hi, my name is Savannah Espinoza, and I am a Receptionist at Neighborhood Vet Hospital of Oceanside. I am passionate about providing high-quality care and helping pets and their families feel welcome and supported.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, cooking, movies, video games, and just about anything outdoors. At home I have two domestic shorthair boys, both four years old: Salem, an all-black sweetheart with the occasional naughty black-cat streak, and Viggo, a tabby who is a total sweetheart and will make biscuits for just about anyone.
Favorite Part of My Job
What I enjoy most is meeting new clients and their fur babies.
Why I Chose This Profession
I grew up loving all types of animals from the time I was a little girl, and that lifelong affection led me into this field.
Education
I completed the Veterinary Assistant program at Pima Medical Institute in Chula Vista (2020–2021), earning my Veterinary Assistant certificate along with a CPR/AED certification in 2021.
Professional Background
Some of my favorite aspects of veterinary care include general surgery, kitten and puppy start-up care, and learning about infectious diseases.
Work History
Before joining veterinary medicine, I worked at EOS Fitness in San Diego as a Customer Service Representative and Kids Club Leader (2015–2018), then spent time at Petco in Vista as a Guest Advisor Leader, Animal Caretaker, and Dog Groomer (2021–2023), where I cared for a wide variety of breeds and safely handled injured, sick, or hostile animals. During my training I completed an externship at Jamacha Pet Vets. Since October 2023, I have been a Receptionist and Veterinary Assistant at Neighborhood Veterinary Hospital, where I manage appointment scheduling, handle client inquiries by phone, email, and in person, support our veterinarians during exams and procedures, and help keep treatment rooms prepared and clean.
