Cindy W.
Lead Registered Veterinary Technician
Hi, my name is Cindy Weiss, and I am the Lead Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) at Neighborhood Vet Hospital of Bonsall, CA. I am passionate about providing high-quality care and helping my patients feel comfortable and confident in their treatment.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, hiking, traveling, visiting local wineries, crafting, and going to theme parks—especially Disneyland and Universal Studios. I also love watching movies and crime documentaries. At home I have two senior cats, Caleb and Jax. Caleb loves food so much he'll even open the toaster oven to check for snacks, while Jax likes to hang out by the bathroom sink and drink from the faucet. Both adore nap time and cuddles with mom.
Favorite Part of My Job
What I enjoy most is educating clients and helping their pets.
Why I Chose This Profession
I originally wanted to be a veterinarian, but I decided to enter the field a different way. As a veterinary technician, I find I get to spend more time directly with the patients, which I love.
Education
I graduated from the University of San Diego in 2006 with a Bachelor's in Psychology and Art History. I then attended Mesa College from 2008 to 2010, earning my Associate's Degree in Animal Technology and my RVT license.
Professional Background
I love performing surgeries and monitoring anesthesia.
Work History
After college, I took two years to work in Adoptions at Helen Woodward Animal Center. I began my RVT career at All Creatures Hospital, a small general practice in Del Mar, where I spent four years (2010–2014). I then moved to Oceanside Veterinary Hospital, where I became the Lead RVT over seven years (2014–2021), before joining Neighborhood Vet Hospital of Bonsall.
