Hi, my name is Shyla Clifton, and I am a Registered Veterinary Technician at Neighborhood Vet Hospital of Oceanside. I am passionate about providing high-quality care and helping my patients go home healthy and happy.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
Outside of work, I enjoy being out in nature, camping, reading, and spending time with my two sons.
Favorite Part of My Job
I absolutely love getting to know our patients and helping them with their care needs. Some of my favourite parts of this work are building relationships with people about the care of their animals and assisting veterinarians with surgical procedures, treatments, and diagnostics to help a patient go home healthy and happy.
Why I Chose This Profession
I have always loved animals of all sizes, and being a trusted member of a veterinary care team has been my dream job since I was little. That lifelong passion is what led me to this profession.
Education
I completed the Veterinary Assistant program at MiraCosta in 2019, and went on to earn my Registered Veterinary Technician credential through the Platt College program in 2025.
Work History
Since graduating from veterinary assistant school in 2019, I have worked at several of our hospital locations while advancing my education, becoming a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2025.
